Dartmouth appeals board approves Alpha Street expansion variance. The Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved a variance for Victor Silva to increase impervious lot coverage from 52 percent to 56.8 percent for a garage addition and sunroom extension at 133 Alpha Street. Chairman Michael Medeiros led the hearing with members Halim Choubah and Associate Member Walter Faria; board member Alvin Youman was absent from this case.
Silva explained the project accommodates his family's special-needs daughter, requiring additional bathroom and bedroom space. Contractor Louis Bolarinho clarified the proposal would not increase total bedrooms. In other business, the Board continued Comprehensive Permit ZCMP-25-2 for Sherbrooke Farms, a 156-unit rental development with 39 affordable units on 81.80 acres at 498 Old Westport Road, to July 9, 2026.
