Board funds Ryder Cemetery restoration with restricted gift

Board of Parks & Recreation · Meeting of January 13, 2026

Dartmouth Parks & Recreation Board votes to fund Ryder Cemetery gravestone restoration with restricted donation. The cemetery gift account holds just over $30,000, donated years ago specifically for Ryder Cemetery maintenance, replacing a planned $14,025 Community Preservation Act grant application. Attorney Dan Perry, representing residents Judith Lund and Diane Gilbert, advocated for using the existing funds.

The Board unanimously approved a policy to close all gates before snowstorms and keep them shut until plowing is complete. Joan Britto has volunteered to serve on the Community Preservation Committee in place of Joseph Vieira.
