Capital Committee Reviews $14 Million in School District Capital Requests

Dartmouth Capital Committee launches FY27 review with school district's $14 million capital agenda. Schools Superintendent Mr. Kiely presented Priority 1 requests totaling approximately $14 million, including a $6 million high school roof replacement under MSBA's Accelerated Repair Program, $950,000 for track replacement, $600,000 for HVAC repairs and replacements, and $1.1 million combined for asbestos flooring removal, playground improvements, technology hardware, and school bus replacement.
The committee discussed strategy to combine long-life projects with 20-year lifespans into single borrowing packages while funding smaller items through available free cash. The committee also noted that the high school generator has failed following a recent power outage and requires immediate repair.
