Conservation Commission · Meeting of April 28, 2026
Dartmouth Conservation Commission escalates North Hixville wetland violations to legal counsel. The commission voted unanimously to refer the enforcement matter to Town Counsel after nearly a year without remediation progress, despite a May 2025 corrective-action letter and the owner's engagement of an engineering consultant who remains unpaid. Conservation Agent Eduardo Fortes reported contact with the property owner has been absent for roughly one year.
In separate action, the commission unanimously approved an Order of Conditions for 112 Pine Island Road, where applicants plan to reconstruct a residence into a new four-bedroom home with associated utilities and septic system; the majority of construction will occur outside the 50-foot wetland buffer zone.
