CPC approves project closeouts, explores agricultural preservation fund

Dartmouth Community Preservation Committee approves project closeouts and explores new agricultural preservation funding opportunities. The Committee voted unanimously to recapture $7,074.28 in unspent Dartmouth Heritage Trail funds and formally close the Dog Park project. Chairperson Howard Baker-Smith authorized $50,000 to Partners in Housing for the Mendes-Monteiro project and $9,430 for a historic properties inventory submitted to the Massachusetts Historical Commission.
Committee members heard an informational presentation from the Agricultural Commission and Dartmouth Natural Resources Trust on a proposed CPC-funded agricultural preservation fund; discussions centered on governance and Town Meeting approval requirements. The CPC application deadline is January 28, 2026.
