Dartmouth Conservation Commission escalates environmental violations to legal counsel. The commission voted unanimously to refer three enforcement orders for ongoing unauthorized work on Old Fall River Road properties to Town Counsel for legal action, citing continued fill placement and material dumped along the Copicut River despite cease-and-desist orders and failure to install erosion controls. Director Jennifer Miller reported an abutting resident contacted Dartmouth Police, who involved Massachusetts Environmental Police due to work directly in the river.
In other business, the commission approved four routine wetland site inspections, issued a Certificate of Compliance for a reconstructed property at 1 Mattarest Lane with minor deviations, and continued three public hearings to allow for peer review revisions.
