School Committee · Meeting of February 9, 2026

Dartmouth School Committee approves presentation of $59.2 million FY27 budget, a 6.85 percent increase. Superintendent Dr. Saba-Maguire and Business Manager James Kiely outlined a plan to add 13.5 full-time equivalent positions, including 4 education support professionals, 3 registered behavior technicians, 1 middle school adjustment counselor, and 1 special education team facilitator.

The district ranked below average in per-pupil spending across all categories yet maintains above-average performance, and carries fewer staff per 100 students than the state average in every category. The budget includes $2.781 million in contractual salary increases, a $245,000 annual reduction in school choice reliance, and increased Medicaid reimbursement funding that generates $300,197 in government revenue flowing to the town's general fund. Public hearing scheduled March 23; Committee vote April 13.
