Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District · Meeting of January 15, 2026

DARTMOUTH — Greater New Bedford Regional Refuse Management District approves FY2027 budget with reserve draw. The Committee voted unanimously to adopt a budget that draws up to $400,000 from reserves to avoid increasing member assessments and preserve landfill airspace, according to Executive Director Anthony Novelli. The budget includes 3% cost-of-living and 2.5% step increases for staff plus accounts for 12-15% health insurance premium growth.

The District will hire a part-time school outreach coordinator for food waste diversion and recycling education. The Committee also unanimously elected John Beauregard Chairperson, Caroline Conzatti Vice Chair, and Daniel Patten Treasurer, filling a vacant Vice Chair post. Cell 7 permitting is expected to yield a draft permit decision by end of January 2026.
