Finance Committee advances $3.7M in Community Preservation projects for Town Meeting.

DARTMOUTH — Finance Committee approves record $3.7M Community Preservation Act slate for Town Meeting. Buddy Baker Smith, representing the Community Preservation Committee, presented six warrant articles including $461,394 for DCTV facility exterior repairs, $575,000 for Davol Field open-space preservation, $230,000 for Crapo Field LED lighting, an additional $853,300 for Dartmouth Cultural Center rehabilitation, and a new $1.5 million Agricultural Preservation Fund to protect working farmland through restrictions and a revolving-fund model. Director of Budget and Finance Gary Carreiro reported the town and schools remain optimistic about closing the remaining budget gap without significant layoffs, and announced all 11 municipal unions have agreed to transition to the South Coast Municipal Health Group for employee health insurance coverage.
