Northern Scenic Greenway project awarded $285,000 state funding

Community Preservation Committee · Meeting of April 14, 2026

DARTMOUTH — Northern Scenic Greenway awarded $285,000 state trails grant. The Community Preservation Committee learned that the Northern Scenic Greenway received a $285,000 Massachusetts Trails Grant, with engineering and design work to begin in late May as approximately 20 firms compete for the engineering contract. The planned path will generally parallel Old Fall River Road through the town's north end.

The state originally planned to announce awards in June 2025 but delayed the announcement by approximately three months. The committee also approved invoices totaling $23,107.48 for ongoing projects and reelected Howard Baker-Smith as chair while selecting James Conlin as vice chair in elections that passed 5-0-1.
