Dartmouth Pathways Committee approves prior minutes and hosts public forum on Northern Scenic Greenway. Chair Bill Trimble outlined the preliminary design phase for the off-road, multi-use path spanning Westport, Dartmouth, and New Bedford along Old Fall River Road, stating no current plans exist to take property or remove trees or stone walls. Sandy Medeiros confirmed that Community Preservation Committee funds, which support recreational projects, are being considered.
Community members raised concerns about right-of-way constraints, road safety, property encroachment, and underutilization of existing bike paths, with several requesting alternative routes such as railway or power line easements; when resident Bill Chandler requested a committee vote opposing the Old Fall River Road route, Chair Trimble asked for a motion and none was made.
