Planning Board continues special permit hearing, supports farmland grant effort

DARTMOUTH — Planning Board votes to support Agricultural Commission grant application for updated cost-of-community services study. The board voted unanimously to authorize Planning Director Daniel Gioiosa to send a letter backing the commission's effort to secure funding under either the EOEEA Planning Assistance Grant (up to $50,000) or the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant. The study, Dartmouth's first since 2005, would inform land use and farmland preservation decisions.
The board also directed Gioiosa and staff to coordinate with the commission on evaluating potential zoning changes to reduce farmhouse lot size requirements from the current two-acre minimum.
