Residents' water bills spike on 13% rate increase and delayed billing

Dartmouth Board of Public Works reports first quarterly water bills surge from delayed cycle and rate hike. Director Timothy Barber reported that bills mailed March 6, one month late, covered approximately seven months instead of six, combined with an approved 13 percent rate increase, resulting in higher-than-expected charges for residents. In other unanimous action, the board appointed Tighe and Bond as consultant for the town's Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan.
Board members also unanimously appointed Robert Almy to the Water Quality Advisory Committee and Michael Gagne to the Long-Range Capital Planning Committee.
