School Committee approves MSBA Statement of Interest for DHS replacement

Dartmouth School Committee votes to submit building replacement application. The committee unanimously authorized Superintendent Dr. Saba-Maguire to file a Statement of Interest with the Massachusetts School Building Authority for the Dartmouth Middle School, citing obsolete building components that no longer support a modern learning environment.
During a joint session with the Select Board, Town Administrator Cody Haddad presented the town's FY27 budget constraints and offered a 4.5 percent increase to schools; the School Committee has requested 6.8 percent. Haddad cited health insurance cost increases, the state's 2.5 percent real estate tax cap, and the school district's school choice revenue complications. Superintendent Dr.
Saba-Maguire committed to working with administration and the budget advisory group to develop a revised proposal by the April 13 School Committee meeting, when a binding vote is scheduled.
