DARTMOUTH -- May 12, 2026, Dartmouth Conservation Commission approves two residential wetland permits and delays a car wash after-the-fact filing at its May 12 meeting. The commission voted unanimously to issue an amended order of conditions for 0 Ledgemont Lane, where new owners Jeffrey and Amy Tavares plan a four-bedroom home that reduces new 100-foot buffer zone alteration by 40 percent compared to the original 2022 approval, per a plan prepared by Peter Cruz of Cab Engineering Solutions. A standard order of conditions also passed unanimously for a single-family home proposed by Michael Vaz on Gaffney Road, where consultant Jamie Bissonnette of Zenith Consulting Engineers kept all work outside a 25-foot setback to a locally regulated freshwater depression. A continued after-the-fact hearing for car wash operator Ronen Drory at 271 State Road was pushed to May 26 after the applicant's engineer failed to appear; the chair signaled the commission will vote at that meeting regardless of attendance. In discussion, one commissioner relayed a message from Congressman Bill Keating's office that Dartmouth is "one of the few towns in the region" that has not applied for available federal water quality grants, prompting the commission to unanimously appoint Commissioner Liz as its representative to the town's newly formed Water Quality Committee.
