Dartmouth Planning Board Eyes Spring Town Meeting for Zoning Bylaw Changes
Planning Board · Meeting of March 9, 2026
Dartmouth Planning Board continues State Road permit hearing, weighs spring town meeting zoning push. The board, meeting virtually March 9 with four of six members present under Vice Chair Lorri-Ann Miller, continued the special permit public hearing for 813 State Road (PSP-25-2) to March 23 by a 4-0 vote after applicant Zenith Consultants, represented by Jamie Bissonette, cited unresolved Department of Public Works sewer and water review costs. Planning Director Daniel Gioiosa told the board it faces a decision on whether to pursue Article 24 zoning bylaw changes at spring town meeting or defer to fall, outlining a path that would bring Town Counsel to the March 23 meeting and hold a public hearing April 6.
Member Helio Rosa urged the board not to decide Monday, saying "at our next meeting, we'll be in far better position to determine that go, no go." The Golen Farms lot-release item (RLPC-26-1) was also continued to March 23 after a bond paperwork error arrived too late to correct before the meeting, and Gioiosa reported the town has begun a feasibility study for the Apponagansett Landing site following a first meeting with the selected architect firm.
